The Board of Selectmen created the Budget Review Task Force to study the Town’s recurring budgetary deficit situation and determine if there are ways, both in the short term and over the long term, to enhance revenues or reduce expenses beyond what the Town is already doing. The Final Report of the BRTF is presented here.
The Budget Review Task Force looked at a number of possibilities and identified four areas for further study that have the potential to increase revenues in Sudbury: Commercial Development/Sewers, Energy, Fundraising and Legislative Initiatives. In some instances, a Budget Review Task Force Preliminary Revenue Report recommendation includes both revenue and cost-saving components and for simplicity, those recommendations are in one section.
The Sudbury Public Schools have prepared responses to suggestions in the Final Report. These responses are intended to clarify and/or add to information presented by the Budget Review Task Force (BRTF).
