Town Offices will delay opening until 11:00 AM on Tuesday, Shelter is Open

The Town Offices will delay opening until 11:00 AM on Tuesday, October 30, 2012. This includes Flynn Building, Town Hall, Fairbank Community Center (including Atkinson Pool, Council on Aging, and Recreation offices and services), the Goodnow Library and non-essential offices at the Public Works department. Sudbury Public Schools and Lincoln-Sudbury Regional High School will be closed on Tuesday.

We are asking all residents to shelter in place, and take all precautions as suggested by the Massachusetts Emergency Management Agency (MEMA)
http://www.mass.gov/eopss/agencies/mema/ However, if you do need to leave your home, a shelter is opened at the Fairbank Community Center. Sudbury's CERT (Community Emergency Response Team) is staffing the shelter. Cots are available but residents should bring medications and other personal items needed, within reason. Supplies at the shelter are limited, so please bring food items with you.

In case of emergency, please call 911 to reach the Sudbury Public Safety Dispatch Center. Please do not call this number for any non-emergency questions, and use the business line at the Police Station instead: 978-443-1042.

The biggest concern for Sudbury will be from sustained high winds, which can bring down branches and wires. DO NOT APPROACH ANY DOWNED WIRES. To report power outages, call NSTAR 1-800-592-2000.

Please continue to follow media reports for updates on Hurricane Sandy and information from Massachusetts Emergency Management Agency (MEMA). And remember to check on your neighbors who may live alone and would appreciate someone checking in on them.
