For some it is an ideal spot for an early morning jog around the pond. For others, there are beautiful wildflowers, interesting mushrooms and forest groundcovers to delight the eye, and berries to delight the tongue. Still others like to walk the trails and enjoy the stillness and watch the changing seasons. Kids like to discover the hiding spots of frogs, turtles, and salamanders, or fish from the "turtle bridge". Bird fanciers may sometimes catch a glimpse of a blue heron, osprey, or marshhawk in the marsh, or the many birds that dwell in oak-pine forest. For the winter sport enthusiast, there is skating on the pond (at your
own risk), snowshoeing and cross-country skiing on the trails that connect
to other open space areas.
