| I am interested in a youth swim team for my child; how do I go about finding information?
Website: www.sudburyswimteam.org
The Sudbury Swim Team is a competitive swim team open to the youth of Sudbury and surrounding towns. The team aspires to create an environment where the swimmers enjoy the experience of competitive swimming through improvement of their stroke and racing techniques, improved personal race times, appreciation of the team friendships and team spirit. To this end, the program is designed to maximize personal enjoyment and improvement. We hope that each swimmer will take full advantage of the team experience. The Sudbury Youth Swim Team is open to swimmers age 7 and up who demonstrate proficiency in the freestyle, backstroke and the breaststroke. Children who are 6 years old are welcome to try out for the team but unless they are exceptionally strong swimmers, the team will most likely recommend waiting until they are 7 years old. All new swimmers are asked to attend a Coach's assessment prior to the beginning of the season at the Atkinson Pool to determine their readiness to participate on a competitive swim team. The assessment will involve the child demonstrating their swimming skills and having an opportunity to meet and talk with the coach. We will not accept swimmers who need basic swimming instruction. | Question |
|---|
| How do I register my child for participation in sports league? I registered my child for soccer (baseball, basketball) but haven't heard anything.
Youth sport leagues are run by parent organized associations. Each league has a Board of Directors. The leagues and associations are not sponsored by Park and Recreation. The following is a listing of contacts for the various sports offerings ( this lisiting is also included in the Park & Recreation brochure that is mailed to all residents).
