This year\u2019s filing deadline is September 24, 2021.&nbsp; Completed application packets may be mailed to the Assessor\u2019s Office or deposited in the drop box located in the Flynn Building parking lot (278 Old Sudbury Rd). The box is next to the U.S.P.S mailbox.&nbsp; If utilizing the drop box option, please label the envelope as follows: Assessors Office, Attn: Cynthia Gerry.&nbsp; If mailing, please send application and documentation to:<\/p>\n<p>Town of Sudbury<\/p>\n<p>Assessor\u2019s Office<\/p>\n<p>278 Old Sudbury Rd.<\/p>\n<p>Sudbury, MA 01776<\/p>\n<p>Attn: Cynthia Gerry<\/p>\n<p>Chapter 169 of the Acts of 2012 established a means tested senior exemption program for the Town of Sudbury. &nbsp;The Sudbury Means Tested Senior Exemption Program reduces real property taxes for some low to moderate-income senior citizens through a redistribution of the property tax burden within the residential class.&nbsp;&nbsp;The exemption is means based, and thus is not universally available to all senior residential property owners.&nbsp;&nbsp;This program benefits some seniors who meet all of the following criteria:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Own and occupy the property as the principal domicile.<\/li>\n<li>Co-owners other than spouse must be at least 60 years of age.<\/li>\n<li>Owner or co-owner must have lived in Sudbury for at least 10 consecutive years.<\/li>\n<li>The assessed valuation the home cannot exceed the prior year\u2019s average assessed value of a single family home plus 10%. This year&#8217;s maximum assessed valuation is $819,800.<\/li>\n<li>Current Income Limits as established by CY 2020 Schedule CB (Massachusetts Refundable State Income Tax Credit for Seniors):<\/li>\n<li>$61,000 or less for a single filer,<\/li>\n<li>$92,000 or less for joint filers, or<\/li>\n<li>$76,000 or less for head of household filer.<\/li>\n<li>The applicant must not own excessive assets that place him\/her\/them outside of the intended recipients of this exemption.
