The Bruce Freeman Rail Trail (BFRT) Advisory Task Force (the Task Force) is intended to advise the Board of Selectmen and the Town Manager to assist in advancing the design, development, construction, and long-term maintenance of the Trail. The Board of Selectmen is looking to this Task Force to gather information and thereby help guide the Board and Town staff in making thoughtful decisions that: (1) are respectful and responsive to residents\u2019 concerns, including those of abutters, businesses, trail advocates, and future users; (2) support Sudbury\u2019s longstanding commitment to protect the natural environment; and (3) result from an open and transparent process. The Town recognizes the partnership with Massachusetts Department of Transportation (MassDOT), for the Trail to be built with State and Federal funding through the Boston Metropolitan Planning Organization (Boston MPO) and through a long-term lease agreement, as other towns on the BFRT north of Sudbury have done.<\/p>\n
