Sudbury’s Affordable Housing increased to 4.59% or by 38 units in January – in both homeownership and rental housing. This represents an increase from 3.91% (or 0.68%) from the June 2006 recorded inventory and includes the additional 2 homeownership units developed on Snowberry Lane, and 36 rental units in Orchard Hill. [Since Orchard Hill is a rental development all its units “count” towards the state’s inventory.]\n
The percentage of affordable housing is tracked and recorded by the State through the Subsidized Housing Inventory (SHI). The SHI is used to measure a community\u2019s stock of low-or moderate-income housing for the purposes of M.G.L. Chapter 40B, the Comprehensive Permit Law.
