Special Town Election May 9, 2017

The Board of Selectmen voted on February 28, 2017 to call a Special Town Election for May 9, 2017, for the purpose of placing a Proposition 2 1/2 ballot question on the Warrant. The Board also voted to place on the ballot, one Selectman position to fill the vacancy created by the resignation of Selectman Charles Woodard, effective April 12, 2017. The term of office for this position will be one year, expiring upon the dissolution of the 2018 Annual Town Meeting. Nomination Papers and Candidate Packets are available at the Town Clerk’s Office on Monday, March 6.

Candidates must file their intentions at the Town Clerk’s Office by 5 PM on Friday, March 17 and return their nomination papers by 5 PM on Tuesday, March 21. The deadline for a candidate to withdraw from the election is Thursday, April 6.
