The Community Housing Committee is pleased to announce the completion of the 2005 Housing Plan. It fulfills the Board of Selectmen's charge to facilitate community housing efforts and create methods for increasing and maintaining the availability of housing for people with low to middle incomes. This plan sets forth goals and strategies to increase the diversity of housing in Sudbury. The plan has been approved by the Massachusetts Department of Housing and Community Development enabling the Town of Sudbury to receive housing certification under Executive Order 418. The Committee hopes that this report will be actively used by all Sudbury committees and residents interested in affordable community housing, including the Board of Selectmen and Planning Board in long range planning and goal setting, the Community Preservation Committee in determining priorities for future project funding, and the Sudbury Housing Authority and other town boards in efforts related to housing.

We believe that the plan and its accompanying data and narrative will bring a better understanding of this issue to Town boards and residents, and that implementation of the plan will further the Master Plan goal of creating a diversified housing stock to accommodate varying ages and income levels in Sudbury.
