The State Department of Public Health has indicated that they are trying their best to ramp up vaccination numbers as quickly as possible.  As such, they have decided to focus their efforts on funneling vaccine to the larger entities that they have already been working with – the entities who can offer hundreds of vaccinations per day.  Therefore, it is unlikely, though not impossible, that the Sudbury Board of Health, will be receiving vaccine to administer to residents.<\/p>\n

As I’m sure you have heard, the Governor announced that people 65+ and\/or people with two co-morbidities (at risk medical conditions), as well as people in senior affordable housing, are able to schedule vaccination appointments as of this morning.  Unfortunately, this increases demand on the state’s website for appointments and has already caused some issues.  It is still important for eligible Sudbury residents to keep trying to schedule appointments using the state’s website at https:\/\/www.mass.gov\/covid-19-vaccine<\/a>.   <\/p>\n

If you are a Sudbury resident who is eligible to receive the vaccine, but you need help with appointment information, please send an email at senior@sudbury.ma.us<\/a> or leave a voicemail at 978-443-3055.  Staff of the Senior Center are not able to register adults for vaccination appointments but can provide up-to-date information.<\/p>\n

State Opens Call Center for Vaccine Appointments<\/strong><\/p>\n

The Call center is open to help seniors who cannot use the online system to book vaccine appointments:<\/strong> <\/p>\n

The call center can be reached Monday through Thursday from 8:30 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., and Friday-Sunday, 8:30 a.m. – 5:00 p.m., by dialing 211<\/strong>, and will be staffed by more than 500 representatives, speaking both English and Spanish. Translators also will be available in about 100 additional languages.<\/p>\n

Vaccine supply still waxes and wanes and appointment availability will vary.  However, the state assures that all who want a vaccination will be able to receive one.<\/p>\n

65+ residents who are able to use the internet can still go to https:\/\/www.mass.gov\/covid-19-vaccine<\/a> to search for an open vaccination appointment.  This website has been revamped to be easier to use.<\/p>\n

The Sudbury Senior Center and Sudbury Board of Health are in frequent contact about the COVID-19 pandemic and the vaccine.  The best way to stay up-to-date is to check the Sudbury Board of Health and Council on Aging or Senior Center webpages for up-to-date information.<\/p>\n
