The CPC held public hearings in November and December to discuss and receive public comments on the list of projects submitted for funding under the Community Preservation Act for the 2008 Annual Town Meeting. <\/SPAN>The proposals recommended by the CPC for Town Meeting approval are:<\/SPAN><\/P>
\n

  1. \n
    <\/SPAN>Nobscot Reservation<\/A>:  Proposal to purchase the development rights on 303 acres of land owned by the Knox Trail Council on Nobscot Road. Amount to be determined from the Open Space category.<\/SPAN><\/DIV><\/LI>
    \n

  2. \n
    CSX Land Acquisition<\/A>:  Purchase of 9.76 acres of land which was formerly the CSX railroad corridor. Amount to be determined from the Open Space and Recreation categories. <\/SPAN><\/SPAN><\/SPAN><\/DIV><\/LI>
    \n

  3. \n
    Walkway Construction<\/A>:  Construction of new walkways. $200,000 from the Recreation category.<\/SPAN><\/SPAN><\/SPAN><\/DIV><\/LI>

  4. \n
    Sudbury Historical Commission, Hosmer Paintings Appraisal<\/A>:  Inventory and appraisal of Florence Hosmer painting collection owned by the Town. $16,000 from the Historic category.<\/SPAN><\/SPAN><\/SPAN><\/DIV><\/LI>

  5. \n
    Military Training Field Archaeological Survey<\/A>:  Archaeological survey of 3 acre town-owned historic military training field on Old County Road. $10,000 from the Historic Category.<\/SPAN><\/SPAN><\/SPAN><\/DIV><\/LI>
    \n

  6. \n
    Town Clerk Document Preservation<\/A>:  Evaluation and preparation of preservation plan for Town’s paper based documents. $2281.15 from the Historic category.<\/SPAN><\/DIV><\/LI>

  7. \n
    Town Hall Windows Restoration<\/A>:  Restoration of wood windows on 2nd floor of Town Hall.  $46,800 from the Historic category.<\/SPAN><\/DIV><\/LI>
    \n

  8. \n
    <\/SPAN>Stearns Mill Dam<\/A>:  Evaluation of historic dam on Dutton Road. $14,600 to be split evenly between Historic and Recreation categories.<\/SPAN><\/DIV><\/LI>
    \n

  9. \n
    Sudbury Housing Authority Unit Replacement<\/A>:  Reconstruction of 4 existing single family houses owned by the Sudbury Housing Authority into 4 new duplex houses, and construction of 1 new duplex dwelling, for affordable rental housing. $600,000 from the Housing category. <\/SPAN><\/SPAN><\/DIV><\/LI>

    Sudbury Housing Trust Allocation<\/A> and SHT Home Preservation Program<\/A>:  Funding for the Sudbury Housing Trust for the purposes of providing for the preservation and creation of affordable housing in Sudbury. $750,000 from the Housing category.<\/SPAN><\/DIV><\/LI><\/OL>
