The following projects were approved at the 2008 Annual Town Meeting. All expenditures come from the Community Preservation Act fund.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
1) Article 25, Town Clerk Historic Document Preservation -$2,300 from the Historic Preservation category to conduct a preservation survey of the paper based collection at the Town Clerk’s office.<\/p>\n
2) Article 26, Military Training Field Archeology Survey – $10,000 from the Historic Preservation category to conduct an archaeological study of the historic, Town-owned Military Training Field located on Old County Road.<\/p>\n
3) Article 27, Florence Hosmer Paintings Appraisal – $16,000 from the Historic Preservation category to complete a professional appraisal of over 470 paintings by Florence Hosmer that are owned by the Town.<\/p>\n
4) Article 28, Stearn’s Mill Dam Evaluation – $14,600 equally from the Historic Preservation\/Open Space\/Recreation categories to conduct a professional evaluation of the condition of the historic, Town-owned Stearn’s Mill Dam.<\/p>\n
5) Article 29, Town Hall Window Restoration – $46,800 from the Historic Preservation category to restore the second floor windows at the historic Town Hall.<\/p>\n
6) Article 30, Sudbury Housing Trust Allocation – $750,000 from the Community Housing category for the purpose of funding the Sudbury Housing Trust’s efforts to provide for the preservation and creation of affordable housing.<\/p>\n
7) Article 31, Sudbury Housing Authority Unit Reconstruction – $600,000 from the Community Housing category to contribute to the replacement of 4 Sudbury Housing Authority-owned single family dwellings located in North Sudbury with new, duplex units, and to construct a new duplex structure on SHA-owned property on Landham Road.<\/p>\n
8) Article 32, CSX Land Purchase – $420,000 equally from the Open Space\/Recreation categories for the purpose of purchasing the 1.4 mile long CSX railroad corridor.<\/p>\n
9) Article 33, Nobscot Reservation Purchase of Development Rights, Phase 1 – $5,545,000 from the Open Space category for the purpose of purchasing a conservation restriction on approximately 160 acres of land known as the Nobscot Boy Scout Reservation.<\/p>\n
10) Article 34, Nobscot Reservation Purchase of Development Rights, Phase II – $2,030,000 from the Open Space category for the purpose of purchasing a conservation restriction on approximately 145 acres of land known as the Nobscot Boy Scout Reservation.<\/p>\n
11) Article 35, Walkway Construction – $200,000 from the Recreation category for the purpose of constructing new walkways within the Town.<\/p>\n
