{"id":43,"date":"2011-09-28T14:58:03","date_gmt":"2011-09-28T14:58:03","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/sudbury.ma.us\/dpw\/2011\/09\/28\/paving-continues-to-peakham-road-this-afternoon\/"},"modified":"2011-09-28T14:58:03","modified_gmt":"2011-09-28T14:58:03","slug":"paving-continues-to-peakham-road-this-afternoon","status":"public-archive","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/sudbury.ma.us\/dpw\/2011\/09\/28\/paving-continues-to-peakham-road-this-afternoon\/","title":{"rendered":"Paving Continues to PEAKHAM ROAD THIS AFTERNOON"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>\n\tAfter Stone Road is completed today, paving is expected to start mid-afternoon on <span class=\"scayt-misspell\" data-scayt_word=\"Peakham\" data-scaytid=\"1\">Peakham<\/span> Road at Marked Tree Road heading north toward the intersection of Horse Pond Road and <span class=\"scayt-misspell\" data-scayt_word=\"Pratts\" data-scaytid=\"5\">Pratts<\/span> Mill Road.&nbsp; Traffic will be diverted&nbsp;down Marked Tree Road, then left onto to <span class=\"scayt-misspell\" data-scayt_word=\"Noyes\" data-scaytid=\"7\">Noyes<\/span> and out to Horse Pond Road.&nbsp;The road will be open to residents living on that section of <span class=\"scayt-misspell\" data-scayt_word=\"Peakham\" data-scaytid=\"3\">Peakham<\/span> Road.<\/p>\n<p>\n\t<strong>State Chapter 90 Funds Road Paving Project<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>\n\tQ. What is the Chapter 90 Program?<\/p>\n<p>\n\tA. The Chapter 90 Program was enacted on March 23, 1973, by vote of the Public Works Commission to entitle municipalities to reimbursement of documented expenditures under the provisions of General Laws, Chapter 90, Section 34, Clause 2(a) on approved Projects. The Funds provided from Transportation Bond Issues authorizes Capital Improvement Projects for Highway Construction, Preservation and Improvement Projects that create or extend the life of Capital Facilities. Funds must be allocated to roadway projects, such as resurfacing and related work (the minimum for resurfacing shall be 3\/4&quot; course with a continuous length of 500&#39;) and other work incidental to the above such as preliminary engineering including State Aid\/Consultant Design Agreements, right-of-way acquisition, shoulders, side road approaches, landscaping and tree planting, roadside drainage, structures (including bridges), sidewalks, traffic control and service facilities, street lighting (excluding operating costs), and for such other purposes as the Department may specifically authorize.<\/p>\n<p>\n\tQ. Can these funds be used for other purposes besides road work?<\/p>\n<p>\n\tA. No, these grant funds from the state are limited to projects approved by Massachusetts Highway division of the Department of Transportation.<\/p>\n<p>\n\tQ. How does the state determine how much money each town\/city will receive?<\/p>\n<p>\n\tA.
