{"id":461,"date":"2018-06-28T13:05:27","date_gmt":"2018-06-28T17:05:27","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/sudbury.ma.us\/emmcp\/?p=461"},"modified":"2018-06-28T13:05:27","modified_gmt":"2018-06-28T17:05:27","slug":"spray-schedule-for-the-week-beginning-july-2-2018","status":"public-archive","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/sudbury.ma.us\/emmcp\/2018\/06\/28\/spray-schedule-for-the-week-beginning-july-2-2018\/","title":{"rendered":"Spray Schedule for the Week Beginning July 2, 2018"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>For the week beginning July 2<sup>nd<\/sup>, 2018, the East Middlesex Mosquito Control Project is planning to use truck mounted aerosol sprayers to apply Sumithrin in<strong> Burlington and Reading. <\/strong>All spraying is done between dusk and 11:30.<\/p>\n<p>On <strong>Monday, July 2<sup>nd<\/sup><\/strong>, spraying will be done in areas of <strong>Burlington<\/strong> that are located in the vicinity of Wilmington Rd., Upland Rd., Fox Hill Rd., Mill St., Locust St., Peach Orchard Rd., Keans Rd., Bacon St. and the Wynnmere area. If we have to postpone due to weather, we will spray the area on Thursday, July 5<sup>th<\/sup>.<\/p>\n<p>Also on <strong>Monday, July 2<sup>nd<\/sup><\/strong>, spraying will be done in areas of <strong>Reading<\/strong> that are located in the vicinity of Van Norden Rd., Causeway Rd., Glen Rd., Longwood Rd., Bancroft Rd., Green St., Belmont St. and Grove St. If we have to postpone due to weather, we will spray the area on Thursday, July 5<sup>th<\/sup>.<\/p>\n<p>On <strong>Tuesday, July 3<sup>rd<\/sup><\/strong>, spraying is scheduled for neighborhoods of <strong>Burlington <\/strong>that are located between Cambridge St. and the Middlesex Turnpike. If we have to postpone due to weather, we will spray the area on Thursday, July 5<sup>th<\/sup>.<\/p>\n<p>The Project uses a spray formulation containing the pesticide, sumithrin, to control mosquitoes.&nbsp;&nbsp; Sumithrin is a synthetic pyrethroid that that the EPA classifies as slightly toxic.&nbsp; Mosquito control applications of sumithrin do not pose a significant risk to people or their pets due to the low toxicity of the pesticide and the small amount that is used to control mosquitoes.&nbsp; As with any pesticide, people should minimize their exposure.
