SUDBURY — House Fire 4 Brooks Road 2016Jan19
Police and firefighters responded to 4 Brooks Road at 7:39 p.m. Tuesday for a report of a house fire. A Sudbury Police Detective arrived within a minute or two and began ensuring that no one was inside the home. However, during his initial assessment of the scene, he observed that there were signs that someone had forced their way into the residence prior to the fire.

Firefighters from Sudbury and various communities were able to extinguish the fire, and a subsequent investigation confirmed that the house had indeed been broken into.

The fire is being jointly investigated by the Sudbury Police and Fire Departments, with the Sudbury Fire Investigation Team, and State Police assigned to the Office of the State Fire Marshal.

Sudbury Detectives are working in conjunction with fire investigators regarding the breaking and entering. No conclusions can be drawn as to the origin and cause of the fire at this time.
“Sudbury is a wonderful community, but we urge residents to be aware of any suspicious vehicles and/or persons in their neighborhoods contacting police immediately so we can investigate further,” Chief Nix said. “This is an active and ongoing investigation.”

We ask anyone who may have seen any suspicious activity in the area to contact Sudbury Detectives at 978-443-1042. Any information may be beneficial to the investigation so please do not hesitate to call.
