FEMA TEAMS OFFER HOME REPAIR TIPS AT LOCAL CENTERS<\/SPAN><\/B><\/SPAN><\/P>

ANDOVER, Mass.<\/SPAN><\/B> \u2014 After a disaster like the recent March flooding, rebuilding or repairing   can be an overwhelming chore. But with the right suggestions and help from professionals, homeowners can build back smarter and stronger. <\/SPAN><\/P>
\n

 <\/SPAN><\/P>
\n

Through May 4, Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) community education advisors will be on-hand at area Home Depot and Lowe\u2019s home improvement stores to provide information about low-cost ways to rebuild that can reduce the risk from future flood events and other potential hazards.<\/SPAN><\/SPAN><\/P>
\n

 <\/SPAN><\/P>
\n

FEMA mitigation specialists will be available to answer rebuilding questions and provide informative publications in English and Spanish on the right way to deal with a wide range of cleanup and repair challenges. In order to reduce future flood damage, they are also able to offer advice on elevating furnaces, circuit breaker boxes, water heaters and some appliances.<\/SPAN><\/P>

\n

Risk-reduction specialists say that by following a few simple steps, homeowners can dramatically decrease their vulnerability to costly repetitive repairs. The best time to make    cost-effective changes is when you are repairing current damages, the experts say.<\/SPAN><\/P>
\n

\n

Specialists will be at all centers from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m.<\/B> each day.<\/SPAN><\/P>
\n
