{"id":29,"date":"2012-07-06T16:43:33","date_gmt":"2012-07-06T16:43:33","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/sudbury.ma.us\/health\/2012\/07\/06\/east-middlesex-mosquito-control-project-spraying-schedule\/"},"modified":"2017-11-07T10:32:04","modified_gmt":"2017-11-07T15:32:04","slug":"east-middlesex-mosquito-control-project-spraying-schedule","status":"public-archive","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/sudbury.ma.us\/health\/2012\/07\/06\/east-middlesex-mosquito-control-project-spraying-schedule\/","title":{"rendered":"East Middlesex Mosquito Control Project Spraying Schedule"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The East Middlesex Mosquito Control Project will be controlling mosquitoes in neighborhoods of Sudbury using truck mounted aerosol sprayers on Tuesday, July <span class=\"scayt-misspell\" data-scaytid=\"25\" data-scayt_word=\"10th\">10th<\/span> between dusk and 11:30 PM.<\/p>\n<p>Spraying is scheduled for neighborhoods that are located near <span class=\"scayt-misspell\" data-scaytid=\"13\" data-scayt_word=\"Landham\">Landham<\/span> Rd., Woodside Rd., Raymond Rd., Dudley Rd., Goodman\u2019s Hill Rd. and Indian Ridge Rd. Spraying will also be done in areas located near <span class=\"scayt-misspell\" data-scaytid=\"27\" data-scayt_word=\"Dakin\">Dakin<\/span> Rd., Powers Rd., Powder Mill Rd., Pantry Rd., Haynes Rd., <span class=\"scayt-misspell\" data-scaytid=\"29\" data-scayt_word=\"Mossman\">Mossman<\/span> Rd., Willis Rd., Ford Rd. and Marlboro Rd.<\/p>\n<p>The Project uses a spray formulation containing the pesticide, <span class=\"scayt-misspell\" data-scaytid=\"15\" data-scayt_word=\"sumithrin\">sumithrin<\/span>, to control mosquitoes. <span class=\"scayt-misspell\" data-scaytid=\"21\" data-scayt_word=\"Sumithrin\">Sumithrin<\/span> is a synthetic <span class=\"scayt-misspell\" data-scaytid=\"23\" data-scayt_word=\"pyrethroid\">pyrethroid<\/span> that is classified as slightly toxic by the EPA. Mosquito control applications of <span class=\"scayt-misspell\" data-scaytid=\"17\" data-scayt_word=\"sumithrin\">sumithrin<\/span> do not pose a significant risk to people or their pets due to the low toxicity of <span class=\"scayt-misspell\" data-scaytid=\"19\" data-scayt_word=\"sumithrin\">sumithrin<\/span> and the small amount used to control mosquitoes. As with any pesticide, people should minimize exposure. If residents see a spray truck approaching, they are advised to go indoors for a couple of minutes while the spray dissipates.
