{"id":633,"date":"2016-12-02T09:08:07","date_gmt":"2016-12-02T14:08:07","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/sudbury.ma.us\/historicalcommission\/?p=633"},"modified":"2016-12-02T09:08:39","modified_gmt":"2016-12-02T14:08:39","slug":"holiday-open-house-at-the-hosmer-house-2016","status":"public-archive","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/sudbury.ma.us\/historicalcommission\/2016\/12\/02\/holiday-open-house-at-the-hosmer-house-2016\/","title":{"rendered":"Holiday Open House at the Hosmer House"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Hosmer House will host its annual Open House on December 3rd &amp; 4th and December 10th &amp; 11th, 2016.<\/p>\n<p>This year\u2019s theme of \u201cA Painter\u2019s Palette\u201d will honor the noted artist Florence Hosmer, who lived in the house from 1896 until her passing in 1978.<\/p>\n<p>Numerous Sudbury clubs and nonprofits have accepted the challenge to interpret a specific room\u2019s paintings with their festive decorating ideas.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The individual groups and titles for this year include:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span class=\"marginB10\"><strong>The Sudbury Villagers<\/strong> (A Fashion Palette), <\/span><\/li>\n<li><span class=\"marginB10\"><strong>Sudbury Garden Club<\/strong> (Cornucopia of Color), <\/span><\/li>\n<li><span class=\"marginB10\"><strong>Parmenter Foundation<\/strong> (Pretty in Pink), <\/span><\/li>\n<li><span class=\"marginB10\"><strong>Sudbury Girl Scouts<\/strong> (A Faerie Palette), <\/span><\/li>\n<li><span class=\"marginB10\"><strong>Thursday Garden Club<\/strong> (A Palette of Flowers) <\/span><\/li>\n<li><span class=\"marginB10\"><strong>The Sudbury Historical Society<\/strong> (Snow Day Today-School&#8217;s Closed). <\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>First time participants include:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span class=\"marginB10\"><strong>The Daughters of the American Revolution<\/strong> (Florence Paints Her Family Tree)<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span class=\"marginB10\"><strong>Sudbury Valley Trustees<\/strong> (An Outdoor Palette). <\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The Sudbury Boy Scouts will once again generously donate a tree from their Holiday Tree sale, which will be on display at the back patio for all to view and enjoy.<\/p>\n<p>Commissioner Barbara Bahlkow and Dottie Sears will decorate the first floor Country Store with the artist original easels and painting artifacts (Florence&#8217;s Palette).
