Historic Districts Commission Seeks Member for Appointment<\/span><\/u><\/b><\/p>\n

The Sudbury Historic Districts Commission is currently seeking residents of the community with historic preservation backgrounds, architectural experience, and\/or are living within a historic district to serve as a member of the Commission. Members are expected to attend monthly meetings or as needed. Meetings are typically held on the first Thursday of each month.<\/span><\/p>\n

The purpose of the Historic Districts Commission is to preserve and protect buildings, places, and other areas of historic or architectural significance. The four <\/span>historic districts<\/span><\/a><\/span><\/u> currently in existence – The Town Center, The Wayside Inn District, the King Philip District, and the George Pitts Tavern District – are subject to restrictions and controls under Chapter 40 of the Acts of 1963 administered by the Historic Districts Commission. The Commission reviews applications for exterior changes and follows <\/span>specific guidelines<\/span><\/a><\/span><\/u> for architectural and color features of buildings, landscaping, stone walls, signs, etc., located within the historic districts.<\/span><\/p>\n

All interested residents are welcome to submit a <\/span>Volunteer Application<\/span><\/a><\/span><\/u>. Applications will be accepted until the position is filled. All members require appointment by the Sudbury Select Board. The position is for a five-year term.<\/span><\/p>\n
