The hearth was the cooking area. To the right is a bricked opening with a door which was used to keep bread, pies, and other food warm.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"standard_wrapper\">\n<div class=\"one_third withsmallpadding ppb_text\" style=\"padding:30px 0 30px 0\">\n<div class=\"standard_wrapper\">\n<div class=\"page_content_wrapper\">\n<div class=\"inner\">\n<div style=\"margin:auto;width:100%\">\n<p>The green depression glass on the dining table was used for company, not for everyday use.  Around the room are several paintings made by Florence, including two of fruit baskets placed above the hearth.  Florence had received the baskets when she was ill, and painted them as thanks.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"standard_wrapper\">\n<div class=\"one_third last withsmallpadding ppb_text\" style=\"padding:30px 0 30px 0\">\n<div class=\"standard_wrapper\">\n<div class=\"page_content_wrapper\">\n<div class=\"inner\">\n<div style=\"margin:auto;width:100%\">\n<p>The bowl on the small table is pictured in the painting on the wall above. The copperware located by the dish cabinet appears in the painting on the wall above. On the top of the hearth is a white teapot with matching cup and saucer, pictured in the painting above.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"one withsmallpadding ppb_text\" style=\"padding:30px 0 30px 0\">\n<div class=\"standard_wrapper\">\n<div class=\"page_content_wrapper\">\n<div class=\"inner\">\n<div style=\"margin:auto;width:100%\">\n<p>The yellow dishes were from Mexico as a gift from Zoie, and the blue patterned plates are Cantonese ware.
