Retiree pays 100% of premium.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h4><strong><br \/>\nINFORMATION FOR RETIREES\/RETIREE SPOUSES TURNING 65<\/strong><\/h4>\n<p><em>The health plans you can enroll in after age 65 depend on whether you&#8217;re eligible for Medicare. &nbsp;If you or your spouse are turning 65, follow these steps:<\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong>1. Determine Eligibility:&nbsp;<\/strong>About 3 months before you turn 65,<strong>&nbsp;<\/strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.ssa.gov\/medicare\/sign-up\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" aria-describedby=\"audioeye_new_window_message\" aria-label=\"Check your eligibility for Medicare Opens in new window\">Check your&nbsp; eligibility for Medicare<\/a> (Parts A and B). &nbsp;If you&#8217;re eligible, apply for Parts A and B (you will not need Part D if you enroll in a GIC Medicare supplement plan).&nbsp; Review this <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ssa.gov\/hlp\/isba\/10\/isba-checklist.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" aria-describedby=\"audioeye_new_window_message\" aria-label=\"checklist Opens in new window\">checklist<\/a> before starting your application&nbsp; See note below on effective dates before selecting a start date for your Medicare plan. If you aren&#8217;t eligible for Medicare, you can enroll\/remain in the same health plans available to active employees.<\/p>\n<p><strong>3.
