\n\tMinimum requirements<\/strong>: Certification as an Inspector of Buildings\/Building Commissioner by the State Board of Building Regulations and Standards; high school education and five years experience in the supervision of building construction or design, or a Bachelor’s degree in a related field, or any equivalent combination of education and experience; valid driver’s license. Requires thorough working knowledge of the Massachusetts State Building Code, local zoning by-laws and other applicable state and\/or local regulations; thorough understanding of the materials and methods of building construction; working knowledge of fire prevention, light, ventilation, electrical, heating, refrigeration and plumbing installations; ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings and plans; expertise in field inspection practices; ability to enforce regulations firmly, tactfully and impartially; excellent communication, management and supervisory skills.<\/p>\n \n\tStarting Salary range is $71,898 to $77,644; excellent benefits.
