Water main flushing continues Friday, September 24 – Friday, October 1, 2004 between the hours of 9:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.<\/P>

Flushing will originate on Pratts Mill Road at the intersection of Peakham Road and continue with McLean Drive, Spiller Circle, Wilson Road, Scotts Wood Drive, East Street, Center Street, West Street, Briarpatch Lane, Hollow Oak Drive, Brentwood Road, Oak Hill Road, Hop Brook Lane, Meadowbrook Road, Meadowbrook Circle, Hemlock Road, Poplar Street, Linden Road, Sycamore Road, Magnolia Road, Tanbark Road, Kendall Road, Austin Road, Hobart Road, Bulkley Road, Amanda Road and Axdell Road.<\/P>

Flushing water mains may cause iron sediment to become more visible. Your water may at times appear yellow to dark brown in color and may also appear milky at times which are air bubbles caused by the opening of water mains. These non-health threatening minerals are also known to cause staining. Be a wary consumer, to minimize the effect of these naturally occurring minerals avoid using and\/or purchasing products that contain chlorine (including automatic dishwashing detergents, laundry detergents and any other household cleaning agents). Products free of chlorine are available at most local grocery stores. <\/P>

To avoid drawing iron sediment into your own system, limit water intake while flushing is conducted in your immediate area during the hours of 9 a.m. through 3 p.m., Monday through Friday. <\/P>
