Opioid-related deaths in Massachusetts have risen substantially over time, and they <a class=\"a\" href=\"http:\/\/www.mass.gov\/eohhs\/gov\/departments\/dph\/programs\/substance-abuse\/county-level-overdose-data.html\"><u><span style=\"color: #0066cc\">jumped nearly 50 percent in 2013<\/span><\/u><\/a>, from 668 to 978 (Boston Globe).
