The Town of Sudbury has temporarily closed certain areas of the Haskell Playground due to a safety issue identified with portions of the poured-in-place playground surfacing. Recent review determined that these areas do not currently meet required safety standards for fall protection.
\nOut of an abundance of caution, the affected sections of the playground have been roped off and will remain closed until repairs can be completed. Public safety, especially the safety of children, is our top priority.
\nThe contractor has accepted responsibility for the repairs, which will be completed under warranty once weather conditions allow for proper installation. The Town anticipates that repairs will occur in the spring, with the goal of reopening the affected areas as soon as work is completed and safety standards are met.
