The Roadeo Event<\/h3>\n

Collaborating with Sudbury\u2019s Police & Public Schools, MassBike will present a fun, free-of-charge outdoor program to show & tell vital, proven bicycle safety and operating skills<\/em> to pre-registered mixed gender 5th<\/sup> Grade-age kids who are capable, but untrained riders.<\/p>\n

How<\/h3>\n

Experienced, certified and insured MassBike instructors<\/em> will conduct an approximately 3-hour session. The instructors will guide<\/em> young participants in how to follow established bike safety riding principles and essential bike maintenance & operation practices\u2026 using lecture, demonstration, skill drills, and fun obstacle course.<\/p>\n

All<\/strong> kids who complete the Roadeo<\/em> will get a free<\/em> backpack containing valuable safety gear plus<\/strong> will receive a Certificate of Completion<\/em>!<\/p>\n

Why<\/h3>\n

Everyday there are more<\/strong> cars, trucks, bicycles, scooters, and people walking\u2026 plus, more<\/strong> people speeding and fewer<\/strong> people being attentive to their movements and surroundings. Consequently, there are more<\/strong> ways for kids on bikes to have an accident<\/em>, get hurt or worse. The Bike Safety Roadeo<\/em> will benefit inexperienced riders by instilling timeless best practice safety \u2018rules & tools of the road\u2019 to make them smarter and safer whenever riding their bike.<\/p>\n

Our goal<\/strong>: Avoid injuries by knowing your bike, knowing how to operate your bike safely, and knowing the importance of always being aware and focused to ride safely.<\/em><\/p>\n

How to Register now<\/h3>\n

Approved pre-registration required.<\/strong> Enrollment limited to 40 participants who are 5th<\/sup> Grade-age and capable of riding without assistance.<\/p>\n

Valid registrations will be accepted and confirmed on \u2018first email post received\u2019 basis only.<\/p>\n

Act today!<\/strong> Download a Roadeo<\/em> registration form<\/a><\/strong> off the \u201cNews & Announcements\u201d section of the Sudbury Public Schools website<\/a> (www.sudbury.k12.ma.us).<\/p>\n

Review the form, fully fill out the form and sign & return form\u2026 only parent-signed forms will be accepted for a child\u2019s Roadeo<\/em> participation.<\/p>\n

It takes a \u201cvillage\u201d\u2026 to organize a Roadeo.<\/h3>\n

The Roadeo<\/em> needs Volunteers to help stage the event!<\/strong> The event will need approximately 15 adult\/\u201cjunior adult\u201d volunteers to fill various t.b.d.<\/acronym> roles on-site on event day.
