{"id":80,"date":"2009-08-05T10:06:47","date_gmt":"2009-08-05T10:06:47","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/sudbury.ma.us\/police\/2009\/08\/05\/cruiser-accident\/"},"modified":"2009-08-05T10:06:47","modified_gmt":"2009-08-05T10:06:47","slug":"cruiser-accident","status":"public-archive","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/sudbury.ma.us\/police\/2009\/08\/05\/cruiser-accident\/","title":{"rendered":"Cruiser Accident"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>On 8-5-2009 at approximately 7:15 AM Officer Nathan Hagglund was attempting to initiate a motor vehicle stop while traveling west bound on RTE 117 with his emergency lights\/siren activated.&nbsp; As he was passing Mary Catherine Lane a vehicle attempted to exit east bound failed to yield to the lights\/siren contacting the passenger side of the cruiser.&nbsp; Officer Hagglund had tried to avoid the collision, unsuccessfully.&nbsp; Following the contact the cruiser spun 180 degrees traveling off the north side of the roadway striking a utility pole on the drivers side door.&nbsp; The resulting impact necessitated Officer Hagglund be extracted from the cruiser by fire personnel.&nbsp; He was transported to Emerson Hospital with minor injuries.&nbsp; The operator of the second vehicle, a Sudbury resident, was not injured and at the conclusion of the investigation the operator&nbsp;was&nbsp;cited for failing to yield to an emergency vehicle.&nbsp; Thankfully, both Officer Hagglund and the operator of the other vehicle avoided serious injury.&nbsp; We appreciate the assistance of witnesses who stayed to assist those involved and notify emergency personnel.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Officer injured in motor vehicle accident <a href=\"https:\/\/sudbury.ma.us\/police\/2009\/08\/05\/cruiser-accident\/\" aria-label=\"Read full article about Cruiser Accident\">Read full article<span class=\"meta-nav\">&rarr;<\/span><\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":1,"featured_media":0,"comment_status":"closed","ping_status":"closed","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"inline_featured_image":false},"categories":[1,6],"tags":[],"_links":{"self":[{"href":"https:\/\/sudbury.ma.us\/police\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/80"}],"collection":[{"href":"https:\/\/sudbury.ma.us\/police\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts"}],"about":[{"href":"https:\/\/sudbury.ma.us\/police\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/types\/post"}],"author":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/sudbury.ma.us\/police\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/users\/1"}],"replies":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/sudbury.ma.us\/police\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/comments?post=80"}],"version-history":[{"count":0,"href":"https:\/\/sudbury.ma.us\/police\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/80\/revisions"}],"wp:attachment":[{"href":"https:\/\/sudbury.ma.us\/police\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media?parent=80"}],"wp:term":[{"taxonomy":"category","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/sudbury.ma.us\/police\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/categories?post=80"},{"taxonomy":"post_tag","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/sudbury.ma.us\/police\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/tags?post=80"}],"curies":[{"name":"wp","href":"https:\/\/api.w.org\/{rel}","templated":true}]}}
