This week, the Town of Sudbury received the Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting by the Government Finance Officers Association for its Comprehensive Annual Financial Report (CAFR).<\/p>\n
The Certificate of Achievement is the highest form of recognition in the area of governmental accounting and reporting, and its attainment is a significant accomplishment for a municipality.<\/p>\n
\u201cI\u2019m very proud that we received this honor again this year,\u201d said Melissa Rodrigues, Town Manager. \u201cOur Finance team is top notch and deserves our recognition and praise for the incredible work they do all year long.\u201d<\/p>\n
This year 4,231 organizations in the United States and Canada received the recognition. The winning organizations were judged by an impartial panel to meet the high standards of the program, which includes demonstrating a constructive \u201cspirit of full disclosure\u201d to clearly communicate its financial story and motivate users to read the CAFR.<\/p>\n
