The Town of Sudbury filed comments in response to the Final Environmental Impact Report submitted by Eversource Energy for the Sudbury-Hudson Transmission Reliability Project this week.<\/p>\n
The comments, which were compiled by Town Staff and the Town\u2019s consulting firm Nover-Armstrong Associates, Inc., explained the Town\u2019s position that the filing did not adequately address the issues required by the State and did not address the substantive issues of the proposed project.<\/p>\n
Due to the many deficiencies in the filing, the Town is requesting that the State require a supplement filing by Eversource. The requested supplemental filing should address the issues and requirements that the Town found were lacking in the initial filing.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe Town of Sudbury continues to oppose any project along the MBTA right of way,\u201d said Bob Haarde, Chairman of the Board of Selectmen. \u201cWe will not accept any project in our town, which comes with a power line running through our conservation land and along back yards and endangers our way of life.\u201d<\/p>\n
Eversource Energy is proposing to install 115-kv transmission lines through areas of Hudson and Sudbury and smaller sections of Marlborough and Stow. The Town has been actively opposing the project at the Energy Facility Siting Board and in other venues.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe were disappointed to see the number of deficiencies and inadequacies in this filing,\u201d said Melissa Rodrigues, Town Manager. \u201cThis project has real impacts for our community, and those impacts must be identified and addressed.\u201d<\/p>\n
