{"id":188,"date":"2014-02-25T13:52:33","date_gmt":"2014-02-25T13:52:33","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/sudbury.ma.us\/selectboardsoffice\/2014\/02\/25\/new-start-time-for-sudbury-candidates-night\/"},"modified":"2014-02-25T13:52:33","modified_gmt":"2014-02-25T13:52:33","slug":"new-start-time-for-sudbury-candidates-night","status":"public-archive","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/sudbury.ma.us\/selectboardsoffice\/2014\/02\/25\/new-start-time-for-sudbury-candidates-night\/","title":{"rendered":"New Start Time for Sudbury Candidates&#8217; Night"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>\n\tCandidates in the contested races for Selectman and both School Committees will face off when the League of Women Voters of Sudbury sponsors its 58th annual Candidates&rsquo; Night Tuesday, March 4.<\/p>\n<p>\n\tThe candidates in uncontested races for town offices will introduce themselves and discuss the position they are running for after the presentations for the contested races.<\/p>\n<p>\n\tCandidates&rsquo; Night will be held at the Goodnow Library, 21 Concord Rd., in Sudbury. The program starts at 7:00 p.m., with coffee and a chance to meet the candidates at 6:45 p.m. The event is free and open to the public.<\/p>\n<p>\n\tThe election is Monday, March 31, and polls will be open from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m.<\/p>\n<p>\n\tThe two candidates running for selectman are John Drobinski, an incumbent, and Patricia Brown, currently a member of the Planning Board.<\/p>\n<p>\n\tThere are four candidates for two three-year terms on the Sudbury School Committee, grades K-8. They are Ellen Winer Joachim and Richard J. Robison, both incumbents, and Christine A. Hogan and Lisa V. Kouchakdjian.<\/p>\n<p>\n\tThree candidates are running for two three-year terms on the Lincoln-Sudbury Regional High School Committee. They are Elena M. Kleifges and Patricia M. Mostue, both incumbents, and Sofya L. Gruman-Reznik.<\/p>\n<p>\n\tIn uncontested races, Robert Iuliano and Barbara Pryor, both incumbents, are running for three-year terms as Goodnow Library trustee. Nancy Jane Hershfield is running for a one-year term as library trustee to fill a vacancy.<\/p>\n<p>\n\tCandidates in other uncontested races are Board of Assessors, Liam J. Vesely; Board of Health, Susan R. Sama; Sudbury Housing Authority, Sherrill P. Cline; Planning Board, Martin Joseph Long; and Park and Recreation Commissioner, Michael T. Ensley.<\/p>\n<p>\n\tAudience members will be able to submit questions that evening in the contested races. Questions may also be submitted in advance by email to <a href=\"mailto:sudburycandidatesnight%40gmail%2Ecom\">sudburycandidatesnight@gmail.com<\/a> until 5 p.m. Monday, March 3.<\/p>\n<p>\n\tCandidates&rsquo; Night will be shown live on Sudbury cable local access Channel 8 (Comcast) and Channel 31 (Verizon) and will be repeated several times before the election. The program will also be available on the station&rsquo;s website, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.sudburytv.org\">www.sudburytv.org<\/a>, as a video-on-demand option.<\/p>\n<p>\n\tThe League of Women Voters is a non-partisan organization and does not support or oppose any political party or candidate.
