Sudbury\u2019s Annual Roadside Cleanup Day<\/strong> will be held on Saturday, April 26, 2025<\/strong>. Join in the general beautification of Sudbury roads, public areas and parks. We need everyone\u2019s help in this important effort. Each year, Sudbury civic groups, businesses and residents volunteer their time and energy to pick up litter all over town.<\/p>\n

How it Works<\/h4>\n
    \n
  1. Sign Up –<\/strong> Participants sign up to Adopt a Street<\/span> <\/a>for cleanup. On Saturday, April 26, 2025, everyone who volunteered picks up litter discarded in the area(s) they selected to beautify.<\/li>\n
  2. Clean Up –<\/strong> Gather your cleanup supplies (any large garbage bag will do), <\/span>head to your adopted area and bag up litter along the roadside\/park area.<\/span><\/span> <\/li>\n
  3. Stay Safe<\/strong> – Please f<\/span>ollow <\/span>Safety Guidelines<\/span><\/a> (gloves, insect repellent and more – please read carefully) during cleanup.<\/span><\/span><\/li>\n
  4. Prep for Pickup<\/strong> <\/span>–<\/strong> Place the bagged litter in one <\/span>consolidated pile<\/span> at a <\/span>visible area<\/span> along your adopted route, preferably at the <\/span>intersection of two streets <\/span>whenever possible. DPW crew will pick up bagged litter during the week of April 27 – please do not leave bags out prior to Cleanup Day, if possible. <\/span>PLEASE NOTE: Only bags left along adopted routes can be picked up<\/span>. <\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    That’s it! Sudbury’s roads and parks will be cleaner and healthier thanks to your efforts!<\/p>\n

    Community Service<\/h4>\n

    For high school students, volunteer hours on Cleanup Day are eligible for Community Service credit.<\/p>\n

    1. Sign up<\/a> to participate in Cleanup Day.<\/li>\n
    2. Clean up the areas you signed up to clean.<\/li>\n
    3. Take a photo of yourself with the bags of litter you picked up.<\/li>\n
    4. Complete the Community Service Form<\/a><\/strong>.<\/li>\n
    5. Email your cleanup photo and the completed Community Service Form to sbadmin@sudbury.ma.us<\/strong><\/a> for validation. <\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/td>\n

    FAQ<\/h4>\n

    I’d like to do the roadside cleanup on another day. Is that possible?
    \n<\/strong>Yes. If you’re not able to do the cleanup on Saturday, April 26, you may do so on Friday, April 25 or Sunday, April 27. DPW will begin collecting the bag on Monday, April 28.<\/p>\n

    Do I have to use any special bags?
    \n<\/strong>Nope. You may use any trash bags you have available at home.<\/p>\n

    When will the bags of litter be picked up?
    \n<\/strong>The bags will be picked up starting on Monday, April 28. DPW crews will drive along all     adopted routes<\/a> to collected the bagged litter. Please be sure to place the bagged litter in one <\/span>consolidated pile at a <\/span>visible area along your adopted route, preferably at the <\/span>intersection of two streets whenever possible. <\/span>Only bags left along adopted routes can be picked up. <\/span><\/p>\n
