On Sunday, March 14th, the Friends of Goodnow Library will feature pianist Elan Sicroff who will perform music from his new CD, ďThe Thomas Hartmann Project.Ē Most of the program will consist of piano music composed by Ukranian de Hartmann (1885-1956) under the spiritual influence of Soviet mystic Alexi Durjieff (1872-1949). During this program, Sicroff will include a few examples of de Hartmannís classical works as well as the sacred music from the East that resulted from his collaboration with Gurjieff.

While teaching in England, Sicroff was introduced to de Hartmannís wife Olga. He studied with her from 1975-1979, and he performed many of de Hartmannís works. Since then, Sicroff has given many recitals of the music at concert halls and universities in the US, Canada, and Europe.

Pianist Sicroff received his classical music training at the Julliard School, Oberlin Conservatory and the International Academy for Continuous Education in Sherborne, England.

The program will be held in the Community Meeting Room at 3 pm.
