Funding for the projects was voted at the 2026 Annual Town Meeting as two of the <a href=\"https:\/\/sudbury.ma.us\/townmeeting\/tmarticles\/?twn_mtng=TM-2026&amp;article=TMWA-2134\">Community Preservation Act projects for Fiscal Year 2027<\/a>. Together, these projects will enhance accessibility, safety, usability, and the overall experience for residents and visitors to Haskell Field and Smile Playground.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #212529;font-family: Segoe UI,sans-serif;font-size: medium\">As the restrooms and playground will be closed during construction, the schedule is designed to minimize impact on peak summer usage, sports season and Sudbury Summer<span style=\"color: #000000\"> Camp operations. Construction and repair work is anticipated to begin in late July&nbsp;<\/span><\/span><span style=\"color: #000000\"><span style=\"font-family: 'Segoe UI', sans-serif;font-size: medium\">or early August<\/span><span style=\"font-family: 'Segoe UI', sans-serif;font-size: medium\">&nbsp;and continue for 3<\/span><span style=\"font-family: 'Segoe UI', sans-serif;font-size: medium\">-4<\/span><span style=\"font-family: 'Segoe UI', sans-serif;font-size: medium\">&nbsp;weeks, and the two projects are scheduled to proceed simultaneously in order to minimize disruption to the public. Please note that the final timeline&nbsp;<\/span><span style=\"font-family: 'Segoe UI', sans-serif;font-size: medium\">for each project&nbsp;<\/span><\/span><span style=\"color: #212529;font-family: Segoe UI,sans-serif;font-size: medium\"><span style=\"color: #000000\">is<\/span> subject to change based on equipment delivery, contractor scheduling, and unforeseen circumstances.
