Funding for the projects was voted at the 2026 Annual Town Meeting as one of the <a href=\"https:\/\/sudbury.ma.us\/townmeeting\/tmarticles\/?twn_mtng=TM-2026&amp;article=TMWA-2134\">Community Preservation Act projects for Fiscal Year 2027<\/a>. Together, these projects will enhance accessibility, safety, usability, and the overall experience for residents and visitors to Haskell Field and Smile Playground.<\/p>\n<p>As the restrooms and playground will be closed during construction, the schedule is designed to minimize impact on peak summer usage, sports season and Sudbury Summer Camp operations. Construction and repair work is anticipated to begin in late July and continue for 3 weeks, and the two projects are scheduled to proceed simultaneously in order to minimize disruption to the public. Please note that the final timeline is subject to change based on equipment delivery, contractor scheduling, and unforeseen circumstances. Please check the Town of Sudbury website (<a href=\"https:\/\/sudbury.ma.us\">https:\/\/sudbury.ma.us<\/a>) for the most up to date information.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h5>Smile Playground Improvements<\/h5>\n<p>The Dr. Bill Adelson Smile Playground improvements are focused on creating a more inclusive, welcoming, and engaging recreational space for children and families of all ages and abilities.
