The Town of Sudbury is filing foreclosure petitions on several properties. Properties that have significant tax balances due, particularly dating back prior to 2008, will be included in this month’s petitions to Land Court.

Any unpaid property taxes after the fiscal year are first secured by Tax Lien filed with the S. Middlesex Registry of Deeds. After an initial 6-month waiting period and without any attempts by property owners to work with the Town to pay off active tax liens, other steps to collect delinquencies must be considered.

Property owners experiencing circumstances which have led to unpaid taxes should contact their mortgage providers and/or contact the Tax Office to see what steps may be taken to prevent the additional expense and financial stress brought about by Land Court proceedings.

The attached listing includes active foreclosure cases in various stages at Land Court.
