The Sudbury Day Committee is now accepting exhibitor and vendor applications for The Marketplace
The Sudbury Day Festival has grown over the past three years into the town’s biggest cultural celebration. On Saturday, September 17, 2005, from 12 noon — 5 p.m., we will again come together in Sudbury Town Center to enjoy food, entertainment, arts and activities from around the world. In honor of the upcoming Winter Olympics, the 4th Annual Sudbury Day will focus on the Mediterranean countries including Italy, France, Spain, Yugoslavia, Egypt, Syria, Israel, Lebanon, Turkey, Morocco, Algeria, Tunisia, Libya, Cyprus, Albania, Malta, Bosnia & Herzegovina, Croatia, Slovenia and Greece.
The Sudbury Day Committee is now accepting exhibitor and vendor applications for The Marketplace. In the past, vendors trying to sell “large ticket” items have not been as successful as they had hoped while those selling lower priced items and those with informational booths have been quite pleased. We encourage everyone to keep in mind that exposure is the primary benefit of participating in the Sudbury Day Festival.
The Deadline for participation in this year’s festival is June 1, 2005
We urge all participants to tie their exhibits and activities into our Mediterranean theme. Examples being discussed include safety tips when traveling abroad for the people with CHIP (child identification). Au Pairs may give foreign language lessons at the Culture Care Au Pair booth. Rather than provide a generic list, the organizing committee will work with you individually in hopes of finding an activity or display that best meets your needs.
In order to cover our costs for the event, there is a minimal donation of $50 for retail/artisans, $25 for exhibitors/educational displays, and $200 for food vendors. This deposit is due with your application. Non-licensed food vendors are not permitted at this event. Inquire about the rates for fee for activity (i.e. bouncers, rides, etc) booths. Remember, space is limited and will be filled on a first come, first served basis.
Please mark your calendars for Thursday, May 5 at 7:00 p.m. An open meeting for all interested vendors, exhibitors and volunteers will be held at Town Hall. This is a great time to meet with others to share ideas, get questions answered, and see the planned layout for the festival.
The Sudbury Day committee invites you to help us foster the understanding of our community’s varied cultures by sharing your unique way of experiencing another part of the world.
Sincerely,
Lisa Vitale Barth
