Sudbury Kicks Off 375th Anniversary Celebration with Logo Design Contest
In celebration of the Town of Sudbury’s 375th anniversary in 2014, the Town recently created the Sudbury Celebrates 375/Sudbury Day Committee, comprised of Sudbury residents of all ages, some of whom are direct descendants of the Town’s founders. The Committee is in the process of creating a year-long, fun-filled celebration that will involve the whole town.
The celebration kicks off with a logo design contest open to residents of any age, as well as to anyone with ties to Sudbury, such as Town employees and past residents. The winner receives bragging rights, such as recognition in all publicity and printed materials, plus the satisfaction of seeing the design on banners, t-shirts, sweatshirts, programs, 375th memorabilia, and more.
Designs must include the phrases “Sudbury Celebrates 375” and “1639-2014” and should be expressive of Sudbury’s past, present and future. The tagline “Community of Spirit” may also be incorporated. The logo can be designed in color, but it will only be applied to printed materials in one color.
The submission deadline is July 1, 2013, and all designs become the property of the Committee. Send either by email as a PNG or JPG file to 375logo@sudbury.ma.us, or by regular mail (no larger than 8.5” x 11”) to 375th Anniversary Celebration Committee, 278 Old Sudbury Road, Sudbury, MA 01776. The artist’s name, address, phone number and email address should be included.
The Sudbury 375 Committee meets monthly in the Flynn Building. Events are in the early planning stages, so volunteers are still welcome to join the Committee. Community groups and individuals, such as schools and religious institutions, art and cultural organizations, artists, and historians are also encouraged to create and produce events and exhibits connected to the 375th celebration.
