Sudbury Transportation Options
The Sudbury Transportation Committee was formed in September 2018 to research and plan for Sudbury’s transportation needs. The Committee successfully launched 4 new transportation services that supplement the ongoing Sudbury Connection van services through the Sudbury Senior Center.
Please Note: Transportation services may change or have limits. Be sure to keep up to date with emails or other communications from the Sudbury Senior Center and/or Sudbury Transportation Committee.

1. Sudbury Connection Van Service
(Mondays through Fridays, 8:30 AM – 4:00 PM)
The Sudbury Connection Wheelchair Accessible Van Service is operated through the Sudbury Senior Center, in conjunction with the MetroWest Regional Transit Authority (MWRTA). This is a shared ride service which means that on occasion your ride time may be adjusted to accommodate the van schedule.
Eligibility: Sudbury residents 60 and older and residents who are 18 and older who are living with a disability that limits driving.
Service Hours: Monday through Friday (excluding holidays) from 8:30 AM – 4:00 PM (first ride at 8:45 AM; last ride starts at 3:30 PM)
Service Area: The Sudbury Connection van provides service within Sudbury as well as to health care destinations in Wayland, Framingham, Marlborough, Maynard and Concord. The Connection van also provides rides to Stop and Shop/Wayland and Market Basket in Maynard on Monday – Friday, and to Target in Marlborough once each month.
Cost: Van fees are $1.00 in town; $2.00 for out of town for a one-way ride and are deducted when you take a ride. (NOTE: Currently, Van Service is FARE FREE through June 30, 2025).

Using the Service: When your application is approved, you will set up a debit account with the MWRTA for van fees. You can then reserve Van rides at least 48 business hours in advance by contacting the MWRTA Reservation Center at 508-820-4650.

2. MWRTA Dial-a-Ride: Supplement to Sudbury Connection Van Service
(Tuesdays and Thursdays, 4:00-7:00 PM)
The MWRTA Dial-a-Ride is a supplemental service to the Connection van service and is operated by the MWRTA, in conjunction with the Sudbury Senior Center.
Eligibility: Sudbury residents 60 and older and residents who are 18 and older who are living with a disability.
Service Hours: Tuesdays and Thursdays from 4:00 PM -7:00 PM
Service Area: See Sudbury Connection Van – Service Area above.
Cost: Van fees are $1.00 in town; $2.00 for out of town for a one-way ride and are deducted when you take a ride.

3. Go Sudbury! Taxi Rides Program
(Healthcare transportation only)
The Go Sudbury! Taxi Rides Service (created by the Transportation Committee) is a Town and grant funded transportation program that provides service from Town-contracted taxi companies. The service is for all types of medical and health care appointments only, and to be used when there is no other public transportation available.
Please note: Health care rides that are in Sudbury, Wayland, Framingham, Marlborough or Maynard should be taken with the Sudbury Connection van when possible.
Tommy’s Taxi (Framingham), JFK Transportation (Natick) and Annex Transit provide taxi rides, which are covered by the Town of Sudbury and grant funding, to and from medical-related appointments.
Wheelchair Accessible Vehicle (WAV) service is also available. Individuals needing WAV service may use the Go Sudbury! Taxi Rides Program for other essential purposes as well.
Eligibility: You may qualify if you are:
- A Sudbury resident or
- A non-Sudbury resident with a child enrolled in Sudbury Public Schools or Lincoln-Sudbury Regional High School or
- A person who works in Sudbury
And, you also meet one of the following criteria:
- 60 years of age or older
- 18 years of age or older with a disability that limits driving
- Active duty military, Reserves, National Guard, or veteran of the armed forces
- 18 years of age or older with financial need
Service Hours: Service hours vary based on which Taxi company is available.
Service Area & Guidelines:
- Rides may be within Sudbury* and up to 25 miles from Sudbury.
- All rides must begin or end in Sudbury.
- There is a limit of 4 one-way medical rides per month per person (as of Jan. 1, 2025.)
Cost: Go Sudbury! Taxi Rides are currently fully subsidized through grant and town sources, so there is no charge to use the service. However, cost sharing is expected to be implemented in the near future to sustain the program.
*Riders are encouraged to use the Sudbury Connection van service for medical rides in Sudbury, Framingham, Marlborough, Maynard, Concord and Wayland, and to use the new Sudbury-Wayland Boston Hospital Shuttle on Tuesdays-Thursdays. This will assist in maintaining funding for the Taxi program.

Using the Service: Once approved to use the service, please contact the CrossTown Connect Dispatch Call Center to arrange your rides for the Go Sudbury! Taxi Rides Program as follows:

4. Go Sudbury! Uber Rides Program
The Go Sudbury! Uber Rides Program (Created by the Transportation Committee) is a Town-funded, partially subsidized, transportation program provided via Uber to get from one place to another if no other public transportation is available. Grant funding may also help to support the program. Rides are provided for non-urgent healthcare and vaccination appointments, work, shopping, and accessing community resources.
Accessibility:
Annex Transit will be available to those who cannot use the GoSudbury Uber program due to a physical, sensory, or cognitive disability, or other limitations that may prevent them from accessing the Uber services.
**WAV Service Note**
The Uber Rides Program does not provide wheelchair accessible vehicles (WAV) at this time. For rides in a WAV vehicle, please use the Sudbury Connection Van service for local service or you may contact the Sudbury Senior Center to discuss your eligibility for Annex Transit service for longer rides.

Cost: The copay for a one-way ride is based on the distance of the ride as follows:
- For a ride within Sudbury, the copay is $3.00.
- For a ride to towns that are adjacent to Sudbury, the copay is $5.00.
- (Towns that are adjacent to Sudbury are: Framingham, Marlborough, Maynard, Acton, Concord, Lincoln, and Wayland.)
- For a ride beyond Sudbury and the towns that are adjacent to Sudbury, the copay is $15.00.

Using the Service: You must have a private account with Uber on your smartphone for this service. An Uber Clinic Technology Support volunteer will assist participants with issues related to downloading and using the Uber application on your smartphone for this program. You can make an appointment for Tech Support by contacting the Sudbury Senior Center at 978-443-3055 or senior@sudbury.ma.us.

5. Catch Connect Sudbury
Catch Connect Sudbury shuttle is a grant-funded, pilot program sponsored by the Sudbury Transportation Committee and the MetroWest Regional Transit Authority (MWRTA). This new Microtransit on-demand service started in Sudbury on July 1, 2024. Service is provided by a wheelchair accessible van from the MWRTA.
Eligibility: Targeted to serve:

- Adults 60 and older
- Those who are 12 years of age and older who have a disability
- Those who are 12 years of age and older who have financial need.
However, this service is eligible to all residents 12 years of age and older.
Service Hours: Mondays through Fridays, from 12:00 PM – 6:00 PM
Service Area: Rides will be within Sudbury and to the Target Store in Marlborough.
Cost: Sudbury and the MWRTA will offer Catch Connect services free through June 2025. After that period, the cost per ride will be $2. There is no cap on the number of rides.
Application: Download the MWRTA Catch app onto your smart phone and request rides through the app.
Using the Service: Riders are able to request a ride as they need them, and potentially get picked up within a few minutes to ½ hour.

6. Sudbury-Wayland Boston Hospital Shuttle
Sudbury partners with the MetroWest Regional Transit Authority to run the Sudbury-Wayland Boston Hospital Shuttle.
Service Hours: Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays. See Pick Up & Drop Off Times below.
Service Area: See Possible Stop Locations below.
Cost: Service is currently FARE FREE to due a Mass. State Grant through June 30, 2025.
Application: Call 508-820-4650 to register for Sudbury-Wayland Hospital Shuttle.
Using the Service: Reservations made at least a full 24 hours in advance by calling 508-820-4650. There are three runs to the hospitals each day and stops are based on the reservations.
