Motor Vehicle Excise Tax Abatements
The first commitment of calendar year 2025 excise tax bills has been issued. Please keep in mind the following:
Motor vehicle excise is taxed on a calendar year basis, In other words the 2025 excise bills issued in commitment 1 cover January 1, 2025 through December 31, 2025
If you have recently sold or traded a motor vehicle you will need to file for an abatement with the assessing department. An application for abatement may be found as an attachment below.
