FY 2021 Senior Means Tested Exemption Program Applications

Important:  Filing deadline is September 15, 2020.  Completed application packets may be mailed to the Assessors Office or deposited in black payment box located in the Flynn Building parking lot (278 Old Sudbury Rd). The box is located beside the U.S. Postal Box.  If utilizing the payment box option, please label the envelope Assessors Office, Attn: Cynthia Gerry.

Some of Sudbury’s moderate and low income senior property owners may qualify for a measure of property tax relief under the provisions of the Sudbury Senior Means Tested Exemption Program.  The following eligibility criteria must be satisfied in order to be considered for exemption.

Qualifying Age- Minimum 65 as of December 31, 2019.

Ownership and Residency in Sudbury- At least 10 consecutive years.

FY 2020 Assessed Valuation of the Sudbury home- Not greater than $820,886.

Income- according to Massachusetts State Income Tax Credit Schedule CB for  Calendar Year 2019:  *Line 9 Schedule CB Income*

Taxpayers Filing a Joint Return:  $90,000.

Taxpayer Filing a Single Return: $60,000.

Filing as Head of Household:    $75,000.

In addition to the above an applicant must not own “excessive assets” that place him/her outside the intended eligibility pool of applicants.
