Pancake Breakfast
Come one, come all, to the annual pancake breakfast to benefit the F.I.S.H. (Friends in Service Helping) medical rides program.
The breakfast is open to all, and will be held in the gym at the Fairbank Community center, 40 Fairbank Road on Saturday, November 8.
On the menu will be pancakes made with the famous Wayside Inn gristmill flour, Wayside sausages, and Starbuck’s coffee. The chef will be from the Wayside Inn.
Tickets are $4 in advance (available at the Senior Center) or $4 at the door. There are also plenty of raffle prizes donated by local merchants, and chances are six for five dollars.
The event benefits the F.I.S.H. medical rides program. Volunteers take Sudbury residents to medical appointments and outpatient treatments in the volunteer’s own cars, for free. Rides can be arranged to Boston, Worcester, Burlington, or any other medical destination. Last year the program arranged for more than 1,750 rides.
The rides are not age-restricted. To request a FISH ride, call 978-443-2145. Leave a message on the answering machine with your name, number, and date and place of your appointment, and a FISH coordinator will call you to set up a match with a volunteer. One week’s notice is requested.
