Community Preservation Committee Requests for 2010 Annual Town Meeting

The CPC will hold public hearings on Wednesday, November 18, 2009 and Wednesday, December 2, 2009 to discuss and receive public comments on the list of projects submitted for funding under the Community Preservation Act for the 2010 April Annual Town Meeting. All interested residents are encouraged to attend this meeting to learn about the new proposals.


The following proposals will be discussed on November 18, 2009 at 7:30 P.M. at the Lower Town Hall:


2010 Woods Walk Sanctuary – $250,000 to create 5 units of affordable special needs housing


2010 Town Hall Lighting – $4,980 to restore antique lighting at Town Hall


2010 Town Hall Design Study – $50,000 for design and architectural services for renovations/restoration of Town Hall into town offices


2010 Walkways – $200,000 for construction of new walkways town-wide


2010 Town Hall Window Extension – extension of time to complete project approved in 2008


The following proposals will be discussed on December 2, 2009 at 7:30 pm at the Flynn Building, 2nd Floor Conference Room:


2010 Sudbury Housing Trust Allocation – $185,500 for the preservation and creation of affordable housing


2010 Town Clerk New Vault, plus  2010 Town Clerk Vaults Supporting Documentation– $401,880 to construct a new vault to provide permanent protection for Town records and artifacts


2010 Town Clerk Vault Upgrade, plus 2010 Town Clerk Vaults Supporting Documentation – $67,795 to upgrade existing Town vaults with climate control, fire suppression and more efficient shelving


2010 Revolutionary War Cemetery Radar Survey – $20,000 to conduct ground penetrating radar survey of the Revolutionary War Cemetery


2010 Tomb Door Restoration – $30,000 to restore vandalized tomb doors on Concord Road and in Wadsworth Cemetery


2010 CSX Acquisition – $275,000 in additional funds to complete the purchase of the CSX corridor from Crumble Station to the Framingham Town Line.


2010 Historic Asset Assessment – $25,000 to complete an inventory and assessment of the town’s historic assets.


2010 Hosmer Paintings Restoration – Up to $3,000 to restore Florence Hosmer paintings.
