Presenter: Dana Roth, Independent College Counselor and Ed Consultant
 
Are you a high school student or the parent of a high schooler
thinking about college? Join the LSRHS Special Education Parent Advisory Council (LSSEPAC) in welcoming Dana Roth, Sudbury-based independent college counselor and educational consultant. Dana will discuss the transition to college for students with learning differences and disabilities.
 
Topics include:
· Fundamental differences between high school and college for students and parents
· Self-advocacy through the college search and transition process
· Best practices for connecting with college resources
· Ideal timelines for your college search, particularly for students with learning differences and disabilities

TRANSITION PLANNING for students 14-22 on IEPs
Wednesday, March 30, 2021 @ 7-9 PM via Zoom
Presenter: Leslie Leslie, Federation for Children with Special Needs
 
Discussions on:
· why transition planning is important,
· services that could be included,
· who is eligible,
· student and parent roles in transition planning,
· role of student’s vision,
· how to prepare for a transition planning meeting,
· age of majority,
· anticipated graduation date, and
· procedural due process rights for resolving disputes
