The calendar for Disability Awareness month, like most months, has overlaps or intersections with important issues. All of October is dedicated to:
- National Disability EMPLOYMENT Awareness
- Learning Disability Awareness
- Breast Cancer Awareness
- Down Syndrome Awareness
- Spina Bifida and Hydrocephalus Awareness
Some special days in October are:
- 4 to 10 – Mental Health Awareness Week
- 6 World Cerebral Palsy Day
- 8 World Blind / World Sight Day
- 10 World Arthritis Day
- 10 World Mental Health Day
- 25 World Spina Bifida and Hydrocephalus
