Haynes & Nixon Schools – Fire Alarm Lighting and BDA
Sudbury Public Schools, acting by its Combined Facilities Director, invites sealed bids from qualified, licensed, eligible contractors for the Josiah Haynes & General John Nixon Elementary Schools – Fire Alarm, Emergency Lighting and BDA Improvements Project in accordance with the Contract Documents prepared for this project.
The Work includes the demolition and replacement of the fire alarm system, emergency lighting, and installation of a Bi-Directional Amplifier (BDA) system at the Josiah Haynes Elementary School (169 Haynes Rd, Sudbury, MA 01776) and the General John Nixon Elementary School (472 Concord Rd, Sudbury, MA 01776), including all associated electrical and architectural work. The Work also includes fire protection improvements at the Josiah Haynes Elementary School. Work is expected to commence upon contract execution and complete all work by August 21, 2026, unless otherwise agreed.
Hard copy bids will be received at the Office of the Facilities Director 275 Old Sudbury Road Sudbury, MA 01776 until April 29th, 2026 at 10:00am at which time they will be publicly opened and read aloud.
Filed Sub-Bids will be received until April 22, 2026 at 10:00 AM for the following category of work:
- Division 21 – Fire Protection
- Division 26 – Electrical
Bid Documents will be available electronically beginning April 8, 2026 by emailing facilities@sudbury.ma.us. No contract documents will be mailed.
A non-mandatory pre-bid walkthrough will be held on April 14, 2026 at 7:00 AM beginning at 169 Haynes Rd, Sudbury, MA 01776. Attendance is strongly recommended.
Prevailing wages as determined by the Massachusetts Department of Labor Standards apply to this project. General Bidders must be DCAMM-certified as Prime in General Building Construction and all bidders must include an updated DCAMM Prime/Filed Sub-Bid Certificate and Update Statement with the bid.
A bid deposit equal to 5% of the total bid amount is required. The successful bidder will be required to furnish 100% Payment and Performance Bonds.
This project and any award of a contract is contingent upon authorization and appropriation of funds by Sudbury Town Meeting, presently scheduled for May, 2026

The Sudbury Public Schools reserves the right to waive informalities in the bidding process, reject any or all bids, and award the contract deemed to be in the best interest of the Authority.
