Sudbury Fire Lieutenant Alex C. Gardner, Firefighter/EMT Russell P. Place, and Firefighter/Paramedic Michael R. Donoghue, Jr. received a Citation for Meritorious Conduct at the 30th Annual Firefighter of the Year Awards Ceremony held today at Mechanics Hall in Worcester.  Gardner, Place, and Donoghue were honored for their extraordinary efforts during the ice rescue of a cross-country skier who had fallen through the ice into Willis Lake.

Governor Charlie Baker presented the awards.  Sudbury was one of many departments to receive an award for outstanding service.

Congratulations Alex, Russ, and Mike!
