On the morning of 5-19-2010 the Sudbury Police Department was notified by the contracted bus company for the town regarding an alleged bullet found on a bus.  Further investigation revealed the bullet is actually a blank round utilized for construction purposes or starter pistol devices.

The bus had been previously out for service for the last two 1/2 weeks and had made one run to Lincoln since returning from being serviced out of town and the discovery of the blank cartridge.  The investigation continues as to the origin of the cartridge but there appears to be no threat to the safety of the students given the known uses for this type of cartridge.

Respectfully,

Sudbury Police Department
