Nixon School Incident

On 11-4-2010 the Sudbury Police Department received a call from the principal at Nixon School reporting having found a threatening note.  Responding officers and school personnel assessed the content of the document, all present determined it best to relocate students/staff to the Lincoln-Sudbury Regional High School as a precautionary measure to ensure the safety students/staff.  During this transition the school was placed in a safe mode according to protocol.  Through the cooperation of the Lincoln-Sudbury Regional High School staff and that of First Student that was accomplished in a safe manner.

During the initial investigation a number of protective measures were taken and continue to be taken to ensure the safety of students.  A collaborative assessment was made as to the opening of school tomorrow, with all agreeing to continue with school operations while providing a police presence.  The origin and intent of the note remains under investigation.
