MONDAY DECEMBER 26, 2011 IS A REGULAR DAY OF BUSINESS

EFFECTIVE IMMEDIATELY.

Effective immediately, the legislature has declared that Monday, December 26, 2011 is a regular day of business for alcoholic beverage licensees. Specifically, Monday, December 26, 2011, manufacturers, wholesalers and importers, and retail licensees may sell alcoholic beverages at the regular times according to the license issued by the local licensing authorities or the ABCC. This amendment is in effect this year only.

All licensees should ensure that they are in compliance with the laws of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, M.G.L. c. 138, §64, and that the sales of alcoholic beverages take place only as authorized by state law. The state law prohibition that restricts sales on Monday, December 26, when Christmas Day falls on a Sunday, goes back into effect for calendar year 2012 and beyond. Individuals with questions concerning this Advisory may contact, the ABCC at 617-727-3040 x 731.
