The Selectmen have authorized the creation of a Blue Ribbon Committee to advise them on next steps to take to correct the many structural problems with the current Police Station. This Blue Ribbon Committee will review the work and decisions made by the Permanent Building Committee over the past two years in terms of location of the station (e.g. stay versus move), the build new versus repair and/or add on decision, and the size/space of the facility, among other issues.

The Board is asking for volunteers from the Town whose experience will be helpful on this committee. Committee members need to be prepared to meet very frequently over the next two to three months to meet the schedule set forth here. This will NOT be a building committee – the Town already has a very capable Permanent Building Committee – but a short term advisory committee to advise the Selectmen and the Permanent Building Committee on different possible directions to go in to address the critical facility problems we have with the current Police Station.

The draft Mission Statement is available by clicking here – please note this Mission Statement is subject to change as the Board of Selectmen has not yet voted on it. Further, the Selectmen may ask for a formal interview with applicants at their meeting on Tuesday November 13th. Applicants will be advised if they will be asked to an interview.

To apply for this Police Station Blue Ribbon Committee, please complete an application form available on the website under “Jobs and Volunteer Positions”.
