SUDBURY, MA—The Sudbury Day Festival Committee seeks volunteers to help out at the third annual event, which takes place on Saturday, September 18, in Sudbury Town Center. To sign up and learn more about volunteering, the Committee will hold a meeting on Thursday, September 9, at 7:00 PM in the Hudson Road Fire Station (corner of Rt. 27 and Hudson Road). It’s a great way to meet and learn more about the people in your community.

Although the bulk of volunteers are needed during the event from noon-5:00 PM, people are also needed starting as early as 8:00 AM through 6:30 PM. Help is needed in the following areas: set up (8:00-11:00 AM), staffing booths at Children’s Pavilion games and crafts, staging, staffing the information booth, and clean up (5:00-6:30 PM).

As a way of saying thank you, each volunteer receives two free Passports, a $20 value, which provide admission to the games area at the Children’s Pavilion. High School students are also eligible to receive Community Service credits.

Sudbury Day aims to foster understanding of our community’s varied cultures through an annual day-long event featuring free performances by cultural groups from all over the world, food from the area’s ethnic restaurants, exhibits by community groups, artisans, children’s activities (including an exciting Continental Scavenger Hunt), and more.

To volunteer, contact Abby Ward (978 443-7723, circlep@earthlink.net) or Lisa Barth (978 443-8221, lvb@simplydirect.com). For more info, visit the Sudbury Day Committee website.
